The Price Jesus Paid The lyrics for this song were compiled from the first chapter of my book “The Story of Acts” Price Jesus Paid tells the story of Christ’s journey from the cross to His ascension in glory. At Calvary, Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, was bruised and beaten, bearing the sins of the world. Mary, His mother, and John, His beloved disciple, stood in grief at the foot of the cross as hope seemed lost. Yet the cross was not the end. it was the fulfillment of God’s greatest plan of mercy. Laid in a borrowed tomb, Jesus could not be held by death. On the third day, the stone was rolled away, and He rose in power, offering forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe. For forty days, He appeared to His disciples, proving the truth of His resurrection and preparing them for what was to come. His final words were a promise: “Wait in Jerusalem, for the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Then, before their eyes, He ascended into Heaven in a cloud of glory, crowned as the Victor, King of kings, and Lord of all. That promise soon came to life at Pentecost, when the Spirit was poured out, empowering the disciples to boldly proclaim the Gospel and giving birth to the Church.
